{"id":336,"date":"2013-09-20T10:16:00","date_gmt":"2013-09-20T08:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/web.xbrleurope.org\/?p=336"},"modified":"2018-05-16T14:03:19","modified_gmt":"2018-05-16T12:03:19","slug":"eu-accountancy-directive-voted-by-european-parliament-the-12th-of-june-2013-opens-the-way-to-electronic-reporting-in-the-european-union","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.xbrleurope.org\/?p=336","title":{"rendered":"EU Accounting directive voted by European Parliament the 12th of June 2013 opens the way to Electronic reporting (maybe in XBRL?) in the European Union"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> \tAfter long negotiations with the European Council and the European Commission, for amongst others the introduction of XBRL, the European Parliament has voted for the new Accountancy Directive &#8211; 2011\/0308(COD) &#8211; in its plenary session of the 12th of June 2013.<\/p>\n<p> \tThis directive is mostly dedicated to the Small and Medium Entreprises filing and reporting of accounts.<\/p>\n<p> \tYou can find the text from the European Parliament in following the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.europarl.europa.eu\/sides\/getDoc.do?type=TA&amp;language=EN&amp;reference=P7-TA-2013-261\" target=\"_blank\">link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p> \tThe text is less ambitious than the first versions and the reference to XBRL in the introductory text has been replaced by a more generic one as follows:<\/p>\n<p> \t<em><span style=\"font-size:11px;\">(39)&nbsp;&nbsp;The Member States are strongly encouraged to develop <span style=\"background-color:#ffff00;\">electronic publication systems<\/span> that allow undertakings to <span style=\"background-color:#ffff00;\">file accounting data<\/span>, including statutory financial statements, <span style=\"background-color:#ffff00;\">only once and in a form that allows multiple users to access and use the data easily<\/span><span class=\"bold\"><span class=\"italic\">. With regard to the reporting of financial statements, the <span style=\"background-color:#ffff00;\">Commission is encouraged to explore means for a harmonised electronic format<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"background-color:#ffff00;\"> <\/span>.
